SC Has Right To Form Judicial Commission On Panama Papers: Ashtar

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) : Attorney General for Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf Ali on Friday said the Supreme Court (SC) had the constitutional right to form a judicial commission on Panama papers case.
It depends upon the apex court whether it constitutes a commission to probe into Panama Papers or frame Terms of Reference on it, he said Speaking in a tv program. He said whatever the Supreme Court decides on Panama Papers, it should be accepted by every political party.
He said he would fulfill all required responsibilities regarding Panama Papers and added that he was not a part of the prime minister's legal team in the case.
He said according to the Constitution of Pakistan, the Attorney General could not do private practice.
He said he was called by the Supreme Court as an assistant on Panama Papers. He said the case on Panama Papers was subjudice in the court and urged every individual neither to criticise it, nor give their views on it.
He urged all the political parties to accept the decisions of national institutions and avoid criticising them. He said some opponents had leveled baseless allegations on him that he was using delaying tactics regarding the issue.
