Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : Four ships C.V Maersk Detroit, M.T Bochem Chennani, M.T Atlantic Glory and M.T Umm Bab carrying Containers, palm oil, chemicals and LNG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile two more ships Maersk Stepnica and Happy Penguin with Containers and Chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Sixty percent berth occupancy was reported at the Port on Tuesday where a total of nine ships namely Maersk Detroit, MSC Silvana, Mariman, Amoy Action, Glory Navigator, Atlantic Glory, Umm Bab, Bochem Chennani and Brizo are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Rice, Coal, Chemicals, Canola Seeds, LPG, LNG, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 169,500 tonnes, comprising 130,152 tonnes import cargo and 39,348 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,252 containers TEUs) 1,546 imports TUEs & 1,706 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port.
Three ships, Maersk Detroit, Amoy Action and Brizo are expected to sail on today afternoon. Tow ships C.V Maersk Stepnica and M.T Elka Delphi carrying Containers and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while two more ships `BBC Ohio' and 'Asya' are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day and CMA CGM Corneille is due to arrive on Thursday, January 5, 2017.
