The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) on Thursday conducted a raid at two food factories in Surjani Town and sealed them for making unhygienic ketchup, mayonnaise and pickle, a private news channel reported.
The SFA officials confiscated 1800 liters of unhygienic ketchup, 1400 liters mayonnaise, 900 kilograms of pickle, 70 kilograms starch and five kilograms of textile color, and destroyed it. The samples of ketchup and other food items were sent to the laboratory for chemical analysis.
It is pertinent to mention here that the SFA, does not have its own laboratory. The provincial government has recently decided to prepare two mobile labs with modern facilities and technology to meet the immediate requirements.
