'Steps Being Taken To Overcome Financial Problems Of WASA'

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2019 ) :Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Syed Zahid Aziz on Thursday directed that operation staff of the agency should cooperate with revenue staff by adopting comprehensive strategy so that WASA could be taken out of financial problems.

According to WASA sources here, the MD said that water connections of those commercial and domestic consumers should be disconnected who did not pay bills and the connections should not be restored until the payment of the outstanding bills.

The MD further directed all the car service stations were given three months timeline for installing water recycling plant and those who had failed to install recycling plants their tariff should be increased by 50 per cent and the list of such service stations should be posted to the district administration so that relevant assistant commissioner should seal such service stations.

He said recycling plants would help in saving water upto 80 per cent, adding that those service stations which used to wash cars with 300 litres of water after installation of these plants they would be able to wash cars with 70 to 90 litres of water.
