Training Course On 'Molecular Method In Biotechnology' Held

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2017 ) : The Bioinformatics & Biotechnology department of Government College University (GCU) organized a national training course on 'Molecular Method in Biotechnology' here on Tuesday.

Vice Chancellor GCU Prof Dr Muhammad Ali was chief guest while Director Dr Shahid Mansoor from National Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE) was guest of honour. Dr Nasir Amin and Prof Dr Ibrahim Rajokah, Chairperson Department of Bioinformatics & Biotechnology Dr Asma Haq and others were present on the occasion.

The GCU Vice chancellor said that National Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE) had always played a key role in research field which was very important for development in any field.

He said that mutual cooperation of GCU and NIBGE in research field could be beneficial for students. He said that young scientists and talented students should be encouraged so that they could play their role in national development.

He said the aim of organizing the training course for students was to provide awareness about advance molecular techniques, capacity building of students and make them able to apply such techniques during their research. Director NIBGE Dr Shahid Mansoor also highlighted the importance of Biotechnology and food Security.
