Triangular Initiative Meeting To Discuss Counter Drug Trafficking Plans On Tuesday

The 13th Senior Officials Meeting of Triangular Initiative will be held here from December 11 to 12 at 10.30 a.m. and expected to be participated by senior counter-narcotics officials from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Dec, 2018 ) :The 13th Senior Officials Meeting of Triangular Initiative will be held here from December 11 to 12 at 10.30 a.m. and expected to be participated by senior counter-narcotics officials from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan.
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime - facilitated Triangular Initiative forum has served as a cornerstone of regional approach to drug control since its inception in 2007.
The second day of meeting will be chaired by Secretary Narcotics Control.
The three governments have agreed to share real-time information, plan and conduct drug-interdiction operations through Joint Planning Cell (JPC) and establish Border Liaison Offices (BLOs), to effectively counter trafficking of Afghan opiates.
The UNODC provides technical support to Triangular Initiative partners in facing their respective situations and challenges in field of counter-narcotics. The senior officials meeting will help three sides in findingsolutions to common challenges by adhering to a comprehensiveand balanced approach.
