Uplift Of Backward Districts In KP Top Priority: Muzaffar

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Sep, 2016 ) : KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said Advocate assured Friday that basic problems of backward districts were being solved on priority basis and there was no dearth of funds for the execution of development schemes in the province.
He said this while talking to a 50-memeber delegation of councilors from Dir Lower district who called on him here at office Civil Sectt. He said construction of over 13000 additional rooms in government Primary schools, boundary walls of about 1000 schools and provision of drinking water and other basic facilities were the responsibilities of newly elected district governments.
He said problems relating to Federal government including electricity and gas were also being taken up with quarters concerned on priority basis. Muzaffar Said Advocate told that the provincial government had initiated a survey to ascertain needs of medical, engineering colleges, universities and other higher education institutions in all districts of the province and in future new colleges and universities would be established on the basis of the findings of this survey.
He said measures were underway for posting the required and equal number of teachers, doctors, medical technicians and nurses in all districts and for this purpose 1500 new doctors had already been employed while appointment of 500 more doctors has also been finalized.
He added that services of such professionals would be made non-transferable once they would be posted in districts.
He said Tangi Paeen and Shnai roads were being completed with millions of rupees cost while heavy duty transformer had been installed in Bakht Bilanda to settle voltage fluctuation issue in this thickly populated village for good.
The finance minister said all the tiers of local governments would perform their functions independently that had been clearly determined under new rules of business (ROBs) to avoid any ambiguity or interference in each other�s affairs.
Stressing the councilors for making the LG system a success in accordance with spirit of the Local Government Act 2013, he said all needed powers and financial resources had been devolved to the local governments.
He however said the councilors would have to deliver with devotion, sincerity and commitment to serve the common people particularly the poor and helpless accordingly. He informed that facilities like newly introduced traffic warden service, WSSP, Rescue 1122 and other latest municipal services and beautification of urban areas would now be expanded to all districts of the province as these steps had been successful in the provincial capital city, he added.
Muzaffar Said Advocate expressed the confidence that LG reps would avoid indulging in corruption that he said was a big menace which weakened institutions in the past. He lauded the zeal and spirit of certain councilors who worked round the clock to ensure cleanliness and paved streets and roads to the entire satisfaction of locals.
