Veerji Kohli Honored With Mehergarh Award

A Mehergarh Award was presented to Veerji Kohli to acknowledge his tireless efforts and struggle for truth, justice and equality for all. Veerji Kohli, a community leader from Tharparkar, Sindh Province remained associated with Mehergarh a Center of Excellence throughout and was also a part of many other platforms.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2018 ) :A Mehergarh Award was presented to Veerji Kohli to acknowledge his tireless efforts and struggle for truth, justice and equality for all.

Veerji Kohli, a community leader from Tharparkar, Sindh Province remained associated with Mehergarh a Center of Excellence throughout and was also a part of many other platforms. He actively participated in putting together suggestions to the Committee on 18th Constitutional Amendment with the Mehergarh youth team and lead the signature campaign on certain clauses that were proposed for these reforms.

He was a part of several advanced trainings at Mehergarh including one on taking political careers. He remained an outstanding activist and a brave leader, said a press release.

In 2005, he received the award of best Mehergarh Graduate after an intense leadership and human rights course.

The Mehergarh course is designed to groom potential leaders, clarify their concepts, help them make strategies for future work and give them skill sets for their specific area of focus. The training concentrates on preparing them to serve their communities and their country by initiating socially progressive change through advances in democracy and justice.

He was elected as a Union Council Nazimand District Councilor from Nagarparkar as an independent. Dr. Fouzia Saeed said that Mehergarh has decided to give him this special award for his efforts and struggle to empower people to stand for their rights, justice and democracy.
