Verified Voters' Lists To Be Displayed On Mar 26; 32 Revising Authorities Appointed For Rwp Division To Receive Objections

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2018 ) :The verified voters' lists would be displayed at the centres to be set up at prominent places including schools, colleges of the division and offices of registration officers, assistant registration officers and display centers at circle level on March 26 while 32 Revising Authorities have also been appointed for Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum to receive objections.

Rawalpindi District Election Commissioner Malik Saleem Akhtar talking to APP informed that the list would be displayed for around a month up to April 24. 36 days would be given from March 26 to April 30 for disposal of claims/objections and applications for corrections which can be submitted until April 30.

The final lists would be displayed in May at the office of District Election Commissioner. Saleem Akhtar said, the voters verification process being completed to finalize arrangements for upcoming general elections.

All out efforts would be made to complete the campaign by May 20. According to District Election Commission Office, at the moment, there are over 2.95 million voters registered in Rawalpindi district including 1.57 million men and 1.37 women.

The new voters are being registered and the Names of the people who have died being removed from the electoral lists. As many as 29 Assistant Registration Officers and 2,221 verification officers had been assigned the task.

The first phase of the drive, verification of new NIC holders and deceased voters completed in Feb. Data entry of verified new NIC holders and deceased voters and adjustment of affected census blocks at district level with the assistance of NADRA (where required) completed till Mar 5.

Data processing and printing of updated electoral rolls would be finalized till Mar 21. During the campaign, special focus was also on registration of women, persons with disabilities and transgender.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has also appointed Revising Authorities and finalized their jurisdictions. Total 17 Revising Authorities have been appointed for District Rawalpindi who would receive and decide claims, objections and applications for correction of electoral rolls including Principal, Government Post Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi for Charge No.

11, 12, 22, 23, 24 and 26 of Rawalpindi City (Rawal Town) as jurisdiction area. Principal, Government Post Graduate College for Boys Said Pur Road, Rawalpindi for Charge No. 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 of Rawal Town.

Principal, Government Hashmat Ali Islamia College Dhoke Kashmirian, Rawalpindi for Charge No. 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 27 and 28 of Rawal Town. Principal, Government Gordon College, Rawalpindi for Charge No.

2 (Chaklala Q.H), Charge No. 4 (Rawalpindi Q.H), Charge No.5 (Adiala Q.H), Charge No. 6 (Gorakhpur Q.H) and Charge No. 10 (Saghri Q.H). Principal, Government College for Boys, Doultala, Gujar Khan for Charge No.4 (Kantrila Q.H), Charge No.

5 (Sukho Q.H), Charge No 6 (Jatli Q.H), Charge No.7 (Syed Q.H), Charge No.9 (Adhwal Q.H). Principal, Government College for Boys, Chakri Rawalpindi for Charge No 3 (Sihal Q.H) and Charge No. (Chakri Q.H).

Deputy District Education Officer, Hassanabadal, Attock for Tehsil Hassanabdal. Senior Headmaster, Government Boys High School No.1, Fateh Jang, Attock for Tehsil Fateh Jang. Deputy District Education Officer, Pindigheb, Attock for Tehsil Pindigheb.

Senior Headmaster, Government Boys High School No.1, Jand, Attock for Tehsil Jand. Similarly, there will be five Revising Authorities for Chakwal District including Principal government Post Graduate College for Boys, Chakwal for Tehsil Chakwal.
