The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat Tuesday visited the University lands adjacent to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Science in Deh Moorho Jabal Jamshoro which had been illegally occupied by land-grabbers
The visit was made with the specific view to ascertain measures to get those estates evacuated, the University spokesman informed and added that the Vice Chancellor LUMHS Prof. Dr. Bikha Ram, Sindh University Syndicate Members Prof. Dr. Arfana Begum Mallah, Prof. Jamshed Ali Baloch, Dr. Rafique Ahmed Lashari, President Sindh University Teachers' Association (SUTA) Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh, President Sindh University Officers' Welfare Association (SUOWA) Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, Secretary SUOWA Manzoor Ali Panhwar, consultant Estate Muhammad Usman Mangi, Manager Estate and Incharge Director Security Rafique Ahmed Brohi, Deputy Superintendent Rangers, Jamshoro and district management officials also accompanied the Vice Chancellor.
On this occasion, Consultant Estate University of Sindh Muhammad Usman Mangi briefed the two vice chancellors by the help of map illustrations about the total area of the Versity's estate and the portions of land that were wrongfully grabbed by the land mafia.
Manager Estate of the University Rafique Ahmed Brohi presented details of the action hitherto taken by SU authorities against the illegal occupants of varsity property. He made special allusion to the final warning notices issued to the unlawful occupants by the varsity authorities in line with exclusive and clear directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to this effect.
The notices allow unjustified usurpers one week time to dismantle structures and move out of the premises; lest the varsity, by the help of law-enforcing agencies, would do the same, he said.
Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat in his remarks, said that he was very clear and firm in his thought and intent as to not allow even a single inch of the sacred varsity soil to any of the heinous occupants to confiscate, no matters what. "We have served all illegal occupants with legal notices to vacate varsity lands in a week's time, and hope they will do so in a peaceful manner; otherwise we will be left with no option but to zone them out forcibly by the help of district management; whatever the case be; but we will, in no way, put up with this excess," Dr. Burfat asserted.
