Water Commission Directs To Complete Water Supply Schemes Within 3 Months

The head of Supreme Court mandated Judicial Commission on Water, Justice (retd) Amir Hani Muslim has directed the officials of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to complete the ongoing water supply schemes within 3 months.
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Oct, 2018 ) :The head of Supreme Court mandated Judicial Commission on Water, Justice (retd) Amir Hani Muslim has directed the officials of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to complete the ongoing water supply schemes within 3 months.
At a meeting in the office of Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro district Capt (r) Fariduddin Mustafa on Wednesday, the commission warned the PHED's officials that action would be taken against them if they failed to comply with the directives.
Justice (r) Muslim said the new water supply schemes should also be completed in a span of 8 to 10 months.
He directed the municipal authorities of Bolhari to supply water to Khuda Ki Basti area.
The DC informed the meeting that 16 new schemes of water supply and drainage had been approved for Kotri Municipal Committee and 4 others for Bolhari.
Talking to the media after the meeting Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) MPA Malik Asad Sikandar and the DC informed that the Commission had been apprised about the water supply and drainage schemes in the district.
They said the existing sewerage infrastructure in Kotri taluka was around 50 years old and that it had become inefficient.
They added that the existing infrastructure required a comprehensive overhaul to be able to sustain the enhanced capacity of the sewage flows.
The meeting was also attended by the local government representatives besides the officials of other government departments.
