AFC-AIPS Asia Sign MoU To Promote Media Coverage To Football

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AIPS Asia, the Asian body of the international sports media association at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Dec, 2017 ) :Asian Football Confederation (AFC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AIPS Asia, the Asian body of the international sports media association at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The cooperation will enhance media coverage of football across the Continent and offer exciting training and learning opportunities for budding football journalists. This was stated by Secretary General AIPs, Asia Amjad Aziz Malik (Pakistan) while talking to APP on phone.
He said signing Memorandum of Understanding with AFC would further strengthen football and sports journalists relations. It is a new beginning and certainly our utmost priority is to promote football in Pakistan and in the whole of Asia like it has in the Europeans countries, Amjad Aziz Malik added.
Quoting AFC General Secretary Dato Windsor John as saying that the AIPs Asia and AFC would work jointly by launching cooperation as such partnership is an important for our commitment to enhance football in Asia.It is the AFC's vision to make football the number one sport in Asia and the media plays an important role in that objective.
We thank AIPS Asia for their support and for spreading the message of the power of football, Mr Dato's Windsor John was quoted as saying.
The AFC provides tailor-made football development assistance to its Member Associations including Pakistan.
Media and communications training forms an ever-increasing part of this and we will look to involve AIPS Asia where possible in that area while also exploring other ways of cooperation. Amjad said that during signing ceremony, AIPS Asia Vice President Ahmad KhawariIsa said: Football and media are two important components that need each other.
AIPS Asia aims to forge close relationships with all sport bodies and we know that the AFC acknowledges the unique requirements of the sports media in Asia, our members. We hope to cooperate on joint activities which will implement the shared vision between our two organizations.The AFC will look to involve AIPS Asia in its media and communications workshops and both organizations will aim to launch new annual journalism awards, the Best Male and Female Football Journalist of the Year in Asia Award.
Earlier Secretary General of AFC Dato Windsor John and Secretary General AIPS ASIA Amjad Aziz Malik signed the MoU.
