WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th December, 2018) Russian national Maria Butina is expected to plead guilty to conspiracy charges that carry recommended prison terms of zero to six months, US media reported on Tuesday.
The estimated sentencing range for Butina's prison term is zero to six months, NBC news reported, citing a copy of the plea agreement, which it said it obtained.
According to the terms of the deal, Butina will admit that she conspired with an unidentified US citizen to try to communicate with Americans who have "power and influence" in US politics. She will cooperate with US authorities on unspecified ongoing investigations, the report said.
