Indonesia expects that the deliveries of Russian BT-3F amphibious armored personnel carriers and BMP-3F infantry fighting vehicles under a new deal will be finalized by 2020, Brig. Gen. Sunaryo, the director for international cooperation at the Indonesian Defense Ministry, told Sputnik on Wednesday
On Tuesday, the Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport announced that Russia had signed a contract on the deliveries to Indonesia of BT-3F amphibious armored personnel carriers and BMP-3F infantry fighting vehicles.
"I think yes. The contract was signed. I think we will move on," the official said on the sidelines of the Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS), when asked if the deliveries would be completed by 2020.
The MCIS is an annual event, which gathers together defense ministers, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations, and military experts. Last year, the conference was attended by some 850 delegates from 95 countries, according to the organizers.
