Eurasian Development Bank Wants To Intensify Work In Armenia - Cabinet

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is willing to expand its activities in Armenia, which joined the financial institution in 2009, the Armenian government said after talks between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and chairman of EDB management board Andrey Beliyaninov on Wednesday.
YEREVAN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th August, 2018) The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is willing to expand its activities in Armenia, which joined the financial institution in 2009, the Armenian government said after talks between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and chairman of EDB management board Andrey Beliyaninov on Wednesday.
"Beliyaninov said at the meeting with the Armenian prime minister that the bank wanted to expand its activities in Armenia and was prepared to discuss the possibility of implementing new projects in various areas," the press release read.
Pashinyan praised the cooperation between the Armenian government and the EDB, pointing at the need to further develop their partnership, according to the press release.
The EDB was established by Russia and Kazakhstan in January 2006 with an aim to promote economic growth in its member states. Tajikistan jointed the institution in 2009, while Belarus and Kyrgyzstan became its full members in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
