Berlin will impose entry bans on 18 Saudi nationals suspected of links to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the German Foreign Ministry said Monday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th November, 2018) Berlin will impose entry bans on 18 Saudi nationals suspected of links to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the German Foreign Ministry said Monday.
"Germany has started a procedure to impose entry bans on 18 Saudi nationals allegedly linked to the [Khashoggi] crime," the ministry said on Twitter.
The ministry added that there were still "more questions than answers" in the case.
Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist, known for his criticism of Saudi policies, went missing on October 2 after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. After initially denying any knowledge of Khashoggi's whereabouts, Riyadh admitted later in October that the journalist had been killed in a fight inside the consulate.
The US Treasury has imposed sanctions on 17 Saudi nationals suspected of links to the murder.
