Indonesia Hopes Russia To Supply First Su-35 Fighter In October 2019 - Ambassador

Jakarta expects to receive the first Russian Su-35 Flanker-E fighter jet in October 2019, Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi told Sputnik on Friday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th September, 2018) Jakarta expects to receive the first Russian Su-35 Flanker-E fighter jet in October 2019, Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi told Sputnik on Friday.

"Not this year. Our goal is October next year... The technical part is not completed yet.

Of course, our government wants this as soon as possible, but it is not so easy," Supriyadi said.

In August, the ambassador told Sputnik that Jakarta expected the first fighter jet by October. In June, he said that Indonesia had signed an agreement with Russia to purchase 11 new Sukhoi aircraft, calling the deal "very large."

The Su-35 is a multirole fourth-generation highly-maneuverable fighter jet with 12 to 14 weapons hardpoints.
