Kremlin Would Like Russian Representative to Be Elected to Head Interpol - Peskov

The Kremlin would like a Russian candidate to be elected to head Interpol, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Monday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th November, 2018) The Kremlin would like a Russian candidate to be elected to head Interpol, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Monday.

The Financial Times reported last week that Alexander Prokopchuk, vice-president of Interpol, who earlier led the office of Russia's deputy interior minister, was one of the candidates for the post of Interpol's chief.

"Of course, we support the Russian candidate, and we would like the Russian candidate to win these elections," Peskov said when asked whether the Kremlin was monitoring the elections of Interpol chief and supported the Russian candidate.
