Kyrgyzstan Hopes To Raise CSTO Military Alliance's Profile

BISHKEK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 09th November, 2018) Kyrgyzstan, which assumes the rotating chairmanship of the CSTO military alliance of ex-Soviet nations, will aim to raise its international profile, the Kyrgyz president said Thursday.
"The CSTO chairmanship will go to Kyrgyzstan for the next period between the sessions.
I want to assure everyone that the Kyrgyz chairmanship will do all it can to raise the group's global profile," Sooronbay Jeenbekov said at the member nations' summit in Kazakhstan.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization was set up by members of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 1992. It is made up of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
