MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th December, 2018) UK Prime Minister Theresa May said that she would get on with the "renewed mission" of delivering Brexit for the UK people in the wake of surviving the confidence vote by lawmakers from her Conservative Party.
"Following this ballot, we now need to get on with the job of delivering Brexit for the British people and building a better future for this country - a Brexit that delivers on the vote that people gave, that brings back control of our money, our borders and our laws, that protects jobs, security and the union [and] that brings the country back together, rather than entrenching division," May said outside her office at 10 Downing Street, as quoted by The Guardian newspaper.
May acknowledged that there was a "significant number" of lawmakers who had not supported her during the ballot, adding she had heeded those who voted against her.
Moreover, the prime minister emphasized that the UK divorce with the European Union was not the only problem facing in the United Kingdom.
The confidence vote in the prime minister was held late on Wednesday following May's decision to put off the parliamentary vote on London's Brexit deal with Brussels.
During the Tory ballot, 200 lawmakers supported May while 117 parliamentarians voted against her.
