MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd April, 2019) Ukrainian presidential election exit poll, which projected victory of Volodymyr Zelenskiy, showed that the Ukrainian people voted for changes in both domestic and foreign policy, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told Sputnik on Sunday.
"The exit poll shows that citizens of Ukraine voted for changes. Now it is the turn of the new leadership of the country to understand and implement the aspirations of voters. Of course, this refers to both domestic and foreign policy of the country," Karasin said.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, for her part, said that Kiev might reset its policy by developing a nationwide agenda after the victory of Zelenskiy.
"With the understanding of the entire behind-the-scenes, I would still say: Ukraine can undergo a reboot. Not in the sense of redistributing cash flows from one pocket to another. But a real one, based on realizing the need to consolidate the population not with the use of force, but on the basis of developing a nationwide agenda," Zakharova wrote on Facebook.
Zelenskiy is leading in the second round of the presidential election with 73 percent of the vote, while incumbent President Petro Poroshenko has received 25.5 percent, the final data of the Ukrainian national exit poll indicated earlier in the day.
