Pakistani Movie Attracts Chinese Audience At SCO Film Festival

Chalay Thay Saath' a Pakistani movie selected for the programme 'Pakistani in Focus' ceremony and film exhibition" was well received by the Chinese audience at the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Film Festival in Qingdao, east China's Shandong province.
BEIJING, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jun, 2018 ) :'Chalay Thay Saath' a Pakistani movie selected for the programme 'Pakistani in Focus' ceremony and film exhibition" was well received by the Chinese audience at the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Film Festival in Qingdao, east China's Shandong province.
Director of the film, Umer Adil, Producer Ms. Beenish Umer and lead actors Ms. Syra Shahrooz and Mr. Kent were present on the occasion and introduced their movie.
Xin Long, Deputy Director of Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film, and Television welcomed the Pakistani delegation and termed the screening of Pakistani films iconic, given the long history of Pakistan-China brotherhood.
The ceremony was attended by Pakistan's official delegation as well as the cast and crew of the selected Pakistani movies. All participants shed light on their experiences and expectations from the SCO film festival.
The film festival was unanimously declared to be a perfect platform for bringing the SCO member states closer by building a community of shared future.
The cast and crew of Bin Roye, Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, and Punjab Nahi Jaongi also promoted their respective movies at the screening of the films.
Ms Ambreen Jan, leader of Pakistani delegation, Ms. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Pakistan Beijing, Ms. Sultana Siddiqui, CEO of Hum tv and a Jury Member, Ms. Momina Duraid and eminent actors Mr. Humayun Saeed and Ms. Mehwish Hayat were also present on the occasion.
The five-day festival, co-hosted by the State Film Administration and Shandong provincial government aims to promote cooperation and exchanges between the member states.
The festival, first of its kind, will screen around 55 movies from SCO countries, including five Pakistani films, with more than 200 delegates from eight SCO states in attendance.
