The low-cost airline Pobeda (part of the Aeroflot group) will order other planes instead of the Boeing 737 MAX if the safety problem is not resolved by the start of deliveries due in November, Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Savelyev told reporters

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th March, 2019) The low-cost airline Pobeda (part of the Aeroflot group) will order other planes instead of the Boeing 737 MAX if the safety problem is not resolved by the start of deliveries due in November, Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Savelyev told reporters.

"If there is no 100 percent guarantee that this machine is safe, no one will take it.

We have supplies from Pobeda not earlier than November 2019. By then, either Boeing will solve the 737 MAX safety problem, or we will order a different machine," Savelyev said.

On Sunday, a Nairobi-bound Boeing 737 MAX 8, operated by Ethiopian Airlines, crashed minutes after takeoff from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. All 157 people from over 30 countries who were on board were killed.
