Pompeo To Hold Talks With Egyptian Foreign Minister In Cairo On Thursday - Reports

CAIRO (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 10th January, 2019) US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will hold talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and deliver an address in the American University in Cairo on Thursday during his visit to the Egyptian capital, local media reported.
He will also hold meetings with the president of Cairo-based Al-Azhar University � a prominent center of religious study in Sunni islam � and Pope Tawadros II, the leader of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram specified.
Pompeo is also expected to visit the newly built Cathedral of the Nativity and the Al-Fattah Al-Alim Mosque. Both religious centers were opened in a new administrative capital located to the east of Cairo on Sunday.
Pompeo, who is currently on a tour across the middle East, has already visited Jordan and Iraq. After his visit to Egypt, the state secretary is expected to travel to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman.
