MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th December, 2018) President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said Tuesday there was "no room" for any renegotiation of the Brexit deal, although further clarifications were still possible, after UK Prime Minister Theresa May announced the delay of the vote on the agreement in the UK parliament.
May told the House of Commons on Monday that she would seek further reassurances from Brussels on Irish border backstop, as it had led to most concerns among the UK lawmakers.
"The deal we have achieved is the best deal possible, the only deal possible ... there is no room whatsoever for renegotiation. But, of course, there is room, if used intelligently, there is room enough to give further clarifications and further interpretations," Juncker said at the plenary session of the European Parliament.
