Russia Military Delivered 500 Food Packages To Aleppo Province - Defense Ministry

DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th December, 2018) Russian military has carried out a humanitarian operation in the Syrian settlement of Tall Daman, the Aleppo province, a representative of the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Syrian reconciliation said on Sunday.

"In total, we have distributed about 500 humanitarian food packages, as well as warm clothes for the local population, provided by the [Russian Chechen Republic's] Akhmad Kadyrov Foundation," Pavel Matreninsky said, adding that such operations were carried out on a regular basis.

As part of the humanitarian operation, the Russian military medics examined local residents.

"We examined, first of all, children - many of them suffer from intestinal infections and URTI [upper respiratory tract infections]. We have the necessary medicines, and we have provided everyone with qualified assistance," one of paramedics, who conducted the medical examination, told reporters.

Tall Daman is home to about 700 people, who are mainly in engaged in subsistence farming.

Russia, along with Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire in Syria. The country has been also assisting Damascus in the reconstruction process and repatriation of refugees.
