Russia is not prone to overestimating the role of the United States in defeating the Islamic State terrorist organization (IS, banned in Russia) in Syria, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st December, 2018) Russia is not prone to overestimating the role of the United States in defeating the Islamic State terrorist organization (IS, banned in Russia) in Syria, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.
"We are not prone to overestimating the role of the United States in IS defeat in Syria," Peskov told reporters.
On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump announced the decision to withdraw US troops from Syria, claiming that the IS had been defeated, and since the US troops were present in Syria exclusively for IS fight, they now had no reason to remain there.
