Russia Registers 7 Ceasefire Violations In Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th January, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire registered seven truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while Turkey recorded 21 violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 7 cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, Idlib. The Turkish side has registered 21 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of� Hama, Aleppo, Latakia," the ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation said in a daily bulletin.
The center conducted no humanitarian operations in the past 24 hours, according to the bulletin.
Since 2017, Russia has been one of the three guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, which has been engulfed in a civil war for years. The Russian armed forces have been providing military assistance to Damascus throughout the conflict, while also carrying out regular humanitarian operations across the country. Russia is now assisting Syria in the post-war reconstruction and the return of refugees.
