Russian Ambassador Antonov Says High Time For Putin, Trump To Discuss Nuclear Arms Control

PRINCETON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 30th November, 2018) Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said the time has come for US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss developments concerning nuclear arms control and the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.

"It is high time for President Putin and President Trump to discuss strategic stability and the future of nuclear arms control, primarily the INF Treaty and the New START," Antonov said in a speech at Princeton University on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Trump canceled a scheduled bilateral meeting with Putin at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after receiving a report on the naval incident in the Kerch Strait involving Ukraine and Russia.
