Saudi Crown Prince, Russian Presidential Envoy Discuss Syrian Issue - Riyadh

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a meeting with Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Monday, during which they discussed the situation in Syria, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
DOHA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th October, 2018) Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a meeting with Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Monday, during which they discussed the situation in Syria, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
"Crown Prince received today the Special Envoy of the Russian President to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev, and reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and latest developments at the Syrian arena," the statement, posted on the ministry's Twitter, read.
They have also discussed the Russian-Saudi relations.
The Syrian crisis has been raging on for over seven years, with the government fighting various opposition movements and terrorist groups. The settlement process has been conducted in the Astana and Geneva formats.
Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is the guarantor of the ceasefire in Syria, and has also been assisting Damascus by supporting the government forces' fight against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to civilians.
