Taiwan's exports continued a growing streak in September thanks to a recovering global economy and strong demand for electronic gadgets
TAIPEI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Oct, 2017 ) :Taiwan's exports continued a growing streak in September thanks to a recovering global economy and strong demand for electronic gadgets.
Exports rose 28.1 percent from a year earlier to reach 28.9 billion U.S. Dollars in September, the island's finance authority said on Wednesday.
The finance authority attributed the 12 consecutive months of growth to a low comparison base last year, demand for new iPhone-related components, as well as a recovering economy in the Chinese mainland, the United States, Europe and Japan.
Meanwhile, exports of electronic components accounted for 10.18 billion U.S. dollars in September, up 20.8 percent year on year and surpassing 10 billion dollars for the first time. Taiwan's total exports in the first nine months stood at 231.48 billion U.S. dollars, up 14.3 percent year on year, with the Chinese mainland (including Hong Kong) and ASEAN as two major growth drivers.
