Zakharova Calls Not To Believe US Statements About Peacekeeping Contingent In Syria

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called not to believe Washington's statements that after the withdrawal of US troops from Syria, there would remain a peacekeeping contingent there
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement earlier in the day that about 200 US peacekeepers would remain in Syria after the military withdrew from the country.
"We should not believe in these statements, no matter who they come from, because the next day they will be refuted by other political forces. The situation is like this: one branch of power makes some statements, then they are refuted by others," Zakharova said in response to a relevant question.
