Hong Kong Stocks Lower At Close

HONG KONG, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Augst,2016) - Hong Kong stocks closed lower Wednesday but Shenzhen rose after the government said it had approved a long-awaited scheme to link trading on the Shenzhen exchange with the Hong Kong market. The Hang Seng Index lost 0.
48 percent, or 111.06 points, to 22,799.78. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index also slipped marginally by 0.02 percent, or 0.49 points, to 3,109.55, but the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.32 percent, or 6.47 points, to 2,043.27.
