MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd January, 2019) Representatives of Russian private military companies are operating in Sudan, but they are not linked to the Russian government structures, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Wednesday.
Media reported earlier in the month that Russia's mercenaries were spotted suppressing anti-government protests raging in Sudan since late December.
"According to our data, representatives of Russian private military firms that are not related to Russian state bodies actually work in Sudan. Their functions are limited to training personnel for law enforcement agencies of Sudan," Zakharova said.
