Allama Iqbal Open University(AIOU) will hold inter-regions sports competitions at country level through its strong regional network in order to encourage talents and positive attitude for establishment of a healthy society

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jan, 2019 ) :Allama Iqbal Open University(AIOU) will hold inter-regions sports competitions at country level through its strong regional network in order to encourage talents and positive attitude for establishment of a healthy society.

The competitions would be held at Regional level across the country while grand competition would be arranged here at the universitys main campus in which the winning teams of regional competitions would be invited to participate, says a press release issued on Thursday.

The Director Regional Services has been advised to chalk-out comprehensive plan to involve the maximum number of students in such activities at their door-steps.

All possible steps would be taken to promote a healthy and constructive environment for the students and the employees as well, while utilizing all its available resources, this was stated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.

Dr. Zia Ul Qayyum while addressing to the prize distribution ceremony of Azadi Cup-2018 that was held in October and November.

The Vice-Chancellor stressed the university's sports committee should manage maximum sports activities in the university for a regular Physical exercise.

Members of the Sports Committee include: Dr. Fazal-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Asghar Chaudhary, Syed Zia ul Hasnain Naqvi, Ms. Naseem Khan Mashood, Sajjad Ahmed, Khawar Mashood. They assured the Vice-Chancellor that they will try their level best to follow his instruction and achieve the desired results.
