RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Aug, 2018 ) :Additional Deputy Commissioner Saima Younas Wednesday took a strict notice of eleven dengue patients reported from Doltala area and asked the concerned to report her immediately as number of patients reported from one area is an alarming situation.
Chairing a meeting to review anti-dengue arrangements, she directed officials of Waste Management Company and Water and Sanitation Agency to ensure the draining of rain water at all places as the present spell of rains has increased the threat of dengue larvae, which needs to be tackled on urgent basis as Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rain in the week.
On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer Health Dr Khalid briefed the meeting that around 1131 dengue fever suspects have so far been brought to the allied hospitals of the city, out of which 46 cases were probable,101 non-dengue and 15 having dengue positive results who were provided the required treatment, he added.
He informed that during indoor surveillance in Rawal Town, Chaklala Cantonment and Rawalpindi cantonment during July 31 to August 14, larvae was found at 415 houses. While 28,166 spots were checked during outdoor surveillance by 185 teams in the said areas and larvae was found at 51 points, he added.
The ADC directed the officials that surveillance activities or tracing larva and its eradication be further expedited besides focusing on hotspots where from dengue cases are being reported equally giving attention towards the places where from larva has been detected during current checking.
