Commissioner Hyderabad Underlines Need Of Effective Measures To Control XDR Typhoid

The Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch while expressing concern over increasing cases of XDR Typhoid in the district has underlined the need of effective measures to control the disease.
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2018 ) :The Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch while expressing concern over increasing cases of XDR Typhoid in the district has underlined the need of effective measures to control the disease.
Presiding over a meeting with officers of concerned departments here at Shahbaz Hall on Tuesday, the Commissioner said that controlling XDR Typhoid and other diseases is the challenging task therefore all possible efforts should be made to control diseases in effective manner.
The Director General Health Dr. Mubin informed that 14 cases of XDR Typhoid have so far been reported from Latifabad and Qasimabad Talukas. The polluted water is the main source of the said disease as the samples of water which examined from these areas also indicated the typhoid germs, he added.
He informed that the health department in collaboration with Agha Khan Hospital has started immunization and vaccination against XDR Typhoid.
The Commissioner directed the officers concerned to launch mass awareness campaign in print and electronic media. The campaign should also be carried out with the support of education department and local NGOs, he said and also directed the representatives of WHO and USAID to prepare a comprehensive strategy so that the health department could be able to root out the disease.
