ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jan, 2019 ) :Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, in Indian occupied Kashmir, has termed the recent assertions by Governor Satya Pal Malik that 'there is nothing like Operation All-Out' as far from reality and truth.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the leadership in a statement issued in Srinagar while contradicting the Governor's claim said that Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General Bipin Rawat had repeatedly used the term 'Operation All-Out' for the ongoing cordon and search operations in the territory.
The JRL asked if it wasn't Operation All Out then what term would Governor like to give to daily cordon and search operations (CASOs) conducted in South, North and Central Kashmir even in such harsh winter.
"Youth are being chased and killed while homes are blown up, and Kashmiri youth, Hiurriyat leaders and activists are detained under draconian PSAs and are shifted to jails in and outside the territory, resistance leaders are confined to homes.
Even Kashmiri students studying outside are harassed and targeted," the statement added.
The leadership said there are footprints of the army and other forces in every nook and corner of the Valley and genuine dissent and people's voice regarding their sentiment is muzzled forcibly while every peaceful political space and activity is barred or foiled by the authorities at gunpoint.
"The militarization of the valley and unbridled powers given to forces under black law AFSPA is the main reason behind the worst form of state aggression in Kashmir."The leadership asked the justification of keeping over seven lakh forces in Kashmir and added that as per the figures available with the resistance camp, 2018 witnessed worst ever rights violations in Kashmir in recent past, as 516 people were killed. "If this Isn't' operation all-out, then what is," they asked.
They said that India had targeted the state subject law and Article 35 A in a series of petitions lodged in Supreme Court in a bid to change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir, which was also a form of this operation.
