The Joint Resistance Leadership has said that Kashmiri youth were chased and killed and Hurriyat leaders and activists are detained under draconian Public Safety Act and shifted to outside jails under 'Operation All Out' launched by the Indian army in every nook and corner of the territory
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik said this in reaction to the recent assertions made by Governor Satya Pal Malik that there was nothing like Operation All-Out in the territory.
The JRL termed the Governor's statement far from reality adding that the term 'Operation All Out' had been repeatedly used by none other than Indian Home Minister Rannath Singh and Army Chief General Bipin Rawat. If it wasn't 'Operation All Out', the leadership asked, what term would Governor like to give to daily cordon and search operations conducted by Indian army in Kashmir? The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, while addressing the mourners of the martyr, Zeenatul islam in Shopian over telephone from his residence in Srinagar reiterated the Kashmiris' pledge to continue the liberation struggle despite the fact that India has crossed every degree of brutality to suppress the freedom struggle.
Senior APHC leader, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, and other Hurriyat leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Javaid Ahmad Mir and Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in their separate statements denounced the filing of a charge sheet against the seven Kashmiri students in a sedition case by Delhi Police. The leaders demanded immediate withdrawal of all thecharges against the students.
Meanwhile, scores of women staged a protest demonstration at Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar, today, to condemn the arrest and subsequent handover of their relatives to the India's National Investigation Agency. The protesters blocked road and raised slogans in favour of the release of their dear ones.
