ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2019 ) :The Chairman of Hurriyat forum and patron of Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in Indian occupied Kashmir has urged the Kashmiris to maintain sectarian amity and brotherhood and frustrate the designs of the vested interests who want to stoke sectarian tension in the territory.

According to Kashmir media service , Mirwaiz Umar Farooq talking to a group of Ulema from Shia sect at Mirwaiz Manzil in Rajouri Kadal area of Srinagar said, "We appeal to the people, especially youth, not to get provoked as there are always some elements present in societies who want to stoke sectarian and communal tensions among people in order to create rift between sects and communities." The Mirwaiz while denouncing recent statements of some anti-unity and anti-amity forces said such speeches and utterances only create divisions and hatred especially at a time when entire population of Kashmir is standing in unison and jointly offering priceless sacrifices for the cause of freedom.

He warned such elements and said that nobody would be allowed to damage the sectarian harmony and religious brotherhood of occupied Kashmir and vowed to fight these elements at all levels.

The Mirwaiz said that Ulema and Imams of Masajid had a great role to play in constructing a better society and to maintain unity they should fulfill that responsibility and lead people towards the realization of Islamic ideals of compassion and tolerance.

The Ulema that called on the Mirwaiz included Maulana Ghulam Ali Gulzar, Maulana Ghulam Hassan Matoo, Maulana Ali Muhammad Jan, Maulana Haleem Sajjad Hussain, Maulana Nazir Ahmed, Maulana Ghulam Mustafa Mir, Maulana Manzoor Ahmed Malik and Maulana Ashiq Hussain Mir.
