4-day Training Workshop On "The Pathways To Leadership" Concludes At PMAS-AAUR

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Dec, 2017 ) :Four-day training workshop on The pathways to leadership organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences, Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), in collaboration with Renaissance Foundation of Social Innovation, Islamabad concluded here on Thursday.
The speakers stressed that respect the feelings of others, as every person has his own thoughts, views and have the right of expression. They were of the view that leadership is principle driven instead of personality driven and said leadership is all about the principles, values and thought.
The purpose of the workshop was to explore the very emotions affecting the social and religious harmony and nurture the abilities to understand others and develop tolerance to cope with leadership crisis.
Vice Chancellor of PMAS-AAUR Prof Dr Sarwat N Mirza was the chief guest at the concluding session while Pakistan's renowned scholar Dr Khalid Zaheer, tv anchor and columnist Khurshid Nadeem, Founding Member school of Leadership Kamran Rizvi, PMAS-AAUR Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Abdul Saboor were the guest speakers at the training workshop which was attended by deans, directors and students of social sciences.
The speakers addressing the workshop enlightened the budding leaders on the basis of Quran and Hadith. They said the truth should not be compromised in the name of personal biases. We should take arguments of every group.
They argued that islam has its unique thinking system which produces positive leaders. It makes each culture natural as the beauty of Islam lies in its compatibility with other cultures of the world.
The last session was a very interactive based on the principles of leadership in context of ownership, connection, sympathy and visionary approaches. Regardless of differences, they focused on the diversified approaches and emphasized to adopt the principles of commonalities.
They also talked on the soft elements of leadership and concluded that principle centre leadership is need of the day rather than person centered leadership. Prof Dr Sarwat N Mirza sharing his own experiences of life argued that interactive teaching is important for creating success stories in academic life.
He argued that there is much potential among the youth which should be capitalized in the right direction. The VC appreciated efforts of Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr Abdul Saboor along with Ayyub Ayubi, Executive Director and Sidra, communication secretary of Renaissance Foundation for organizing such a successful training session.
He hoped that the training session would be helpful to respect the feelings of others by accepting the differences to create the social and religious harmony. He also promised to continue this kind of training in other faculties of the university. At the end, the certificates and shields were also distributed among the participants.
