50 More Houses Handed Over To Overseas Pakistanis

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th August, 2016) : As a result of the efforts made by the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, 50 more houses in housing scheme Eden Abad and Eden Gardens have been handed over to the long awaited overseas Pakistanis.
OPC Punjab Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti gave away possession documents of the houses to their owners during a ceremony. Afzaal Bhatti while addressing the ceremony held in this connection, informed that Overseas Pakistanis had booked their houses in these housing schemes some 10 years ago but despite the payment, houses were not handed over to them.
He said that on the complaints of Overseas Pakistanis, OPC Punjab played its role for the provision of houses to the affected owners.
The OPC Commissioner assured that complaints of overseas Pakistanis regarding housing schemes were being treated on priority basis and remaining complaints of overseas Pakistanis pertaining to this housing scheme would also be addressed soon.
The OPC Commissioner said that prior to this on the initiative of OPC Punjab 45 houses in Eden housing scheme had also been handed over to overseas Pakistanis in two phases. Afzal Bhatti further informed that on the instructions of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, OPC Punjab is playing an effective role to resolve the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis.
A large number of overseas Pakistanis and OPC officials attended the ceremony.
