Administration removes illegal election publicity material from 136 points

District Administration had removed illegal election publicity material from 136 points of the district which was displayed in violation of election Code of Conduct said Additional Deputy Commissioner, Finance and Planning Rao Atif Raza.

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jun, 2018 ) :District Administration had removed illegal election publicity material from 136 points of the district which was displayed in violation of election Code of Conduct said Additional Deputy Commissioner, Finance and Planning Rao Atif Raza.

He said, the administration was taking action in accordance with the law against the Code of Conduct violators and no one would be allowed to violate the rules.

He said, illegal publicity material was removed from Kutchery to Golra more area, G.T.Road Taxila, Faisal Shahid G.T.Road area, Nawab Abad, HMC Road, Kalar Syedan, Kahuta Link Club Line Kahuta Road, Kalar Chowk, Kahuta City, Kalma Chowk, Chanda Chichi, Khana, Chaklala Scheme-III, Tench Bhatta, G.T.Road near Sawan Bridge, Mandra, Mandra Toll Plaza, Galian Mor Gujar Khan Landa Bazar, Railway Road Chowk near Club Caf, Latrar Road, New Murree Road, Karor Road and other areas and removed banners, posters, panaflexes and other illegal material under the supervision of Assistant Commissioners Liaquat Ali, Ahmed Hassan and Ghulam Abbas, Waqas Marth, Ghulam Abbas, Ansar Hayat, Ambar Gillani, Tasneem Ali Khan, Umar Shujja and Shahid Nadeem Rana.

He said, the ACs had been directed to take action on violation of Code of Conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for upcoming general election 2018. The administration was removing unapproved size banners and posters displayed by political parties and election candidates.

ECP had issued a code of conduct to set the size of portraits at 2x3, banners at 3x9 feet, posters 18x23 inches and handbills should not be larger than 6x9 inches. There is also a ban on the use of panaflex banners and posters as well as wall-chalking.

On the directives of the DC, who was also the officer appointed by ECP to monitor general election, the ACs were visiting different areas of the district.

The administration had warned the candidates that a report of the violations would be sent to the ECP. The operation would be conducted on daily basis till the completion of the general election and no relaxation would be given to anyone.

He said that on second violation, the case would be reported to district monitoring officer whowould initiate legal action against the candidate.
