AJK Population Rises To Over 4 Million

The population of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has risen to over 4 million as per the population census-2017
MIRPUR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Aug, 2017 ) , Aug 26 (APP): The population of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has risen to over 4 million as per the population census-2017. Talking to APP, AJK Census Commissioner Raja Tariq Mahmood said in the recently-conducted population census 2017, the population of Azad Kashmir had now increased to 4,045,366 persons (both genders) from 2,972,501 persons according to the census-1998.
Giving the district-wise breakup of population, he said the number of persons registered in Muzaffarabad district were 650, 370, Neelam Valley district 191,251, Hattiyan (Jhleum Valley) district 230,529), Bhimbher district 420,624, Mirpur district 456,200, Kotli district 774,194), Bagh district 371,919, Sudhanoti (Palandri) district 297,584), Poonch district 500,571 and Haveili district 152,124.
