Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th April, 2019) Former finance minister Asad Umar has thanked the people who expressed their support to him over the last two days.
Taking to Twitter, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader said it is the millions of selfless, ideological, passionate supporters who are the guardians of PTI’s ideology.
He said that is the passion of these supporters from which Imran Khan and his team draws energy.
“Want to thank the many many people who expressed support over the last 2 days. It is the millions of selfless, ideological, passionate supporters who are guardians of ideology of the tehreek. It's your passion from which Imran Khan & his team draw energy. May Allah bless you all,” he wrote.
Finance Minister Asad Umar Thursday announced to quit his portfolio expressing firm commitment to continue working for materializing the dream of prosperous 'Naya Pakistan' under the leadership of Imran Khan.
He announced his resignation during a press conference, soon after his tweet on his social media account on the issue.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan intended to make some reshuffle in the Federal cabinet and the announcement for further changes was expected shortly.
He said amid reshuffle news, he met with the prime minister last evening and this morning, convinced him on his decision to step down from the cabinet, instead of taking any other portfolio.
He said stepping down from the membership of the cabinet did not mean leaving Imran Khan's vision for a developed and prosperous Pakistan, saying he was always available and would remain so in future.
