Awareness Stressed For Eliminating Corruption From Society

DI KHAN, JAN 06 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Jan, 2017 ) : Assistant Director Anti-Corruption Department of Dera Ismail Khan Circle Abdul Hai has underlined the need for creating awareness about eradicating corruption from society.
"Corruption is like a cancer, eating up the very fabric of society, so we have to make collective efforts to create awareness and media is needed to take lead, in this regard," the official told while talking to media here on Friday.
He said the provincial government was leaving no stone un-turned to wipe out the scourge of corruption and noose was being tightened around corrupt elements in departments as part of efforts to materialize vision of Director Anti-Corruption Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zaibullah Khan for making the province as corruption-free.
He said that anti-corruption department had made firm resolve to put in place comprehensive measures to prevent the corruption and added Anti-corruption department of the Dera Ismail Khan circle was efficiently moving ahead with its commitment to lay hands on corrupt elements which had crept in various departments.
Abdul Hai said his department arrrested19 officials on charges of corruption and registered seven cases during the last three months. He said support from all segments of society, particularly media, which played role like opinion leader in society, should come forward to make those efforts more effective by educating and raising awareness about the menace.
He said that recently technical, audit team of anti-corruption department visited the district, and cases would be registered against corrupt elements in light of reports of the team. He said that the anti-corruption department was actively attending of public's complaints by initiating legal action against those who were found responsible. APP/slm/rn
