BLLF Lauds Govt For Taking Steps To Protect Rights Of Women, Children

LAHORE, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : Bonded Labour Liberation Front (BLLF) general secretary and labour rights activist Syeda Ghulam Fatima on Tuesday lauded the PML-N government for taking concrete steps regarding the approval of bills for the protection of women and children's rights.
Talking to APP, BLLF general secretary Syeda Ghulam Fatima appreciated the government's efforts for the protection of rights of women. Lauding the new bills regarding protection of women recently approved by the parliament and bills against child labour at brick kilns, she said the administration should adopt and implement the law in letter and spirit.
However, she expressed the hope that the revival of labour laws would help empower institutions for poverty alleviation and development at grassroot level. To a question, Fatima praised the government for constituting vigilance and action committees on the issues of child labour at brick kilns across the country.
