CDGP confers Pride of Peshawar Awards on 17 residents

City District Government Peshawar Thursday conferred Pride of Peshawar for performing outstanding performance in different sectors and bringing laurels for the country

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2019 ) :City District Government Peshawar Thursday conferred Pride of Peshawar for performing outstanding performance in different sectors and bringing laurels for the country.

The awards were distributed during a ceremony held here at Nishtar Hall with KP Senior Minister Atif Khan as chief guest on the occasion. Besides, the Provincial Finance Minister, Taimur Saleem Jhagra, the District Nazim, Peshawar Mohammad Asim Khan, Special Assistant to CM, Kamran Bangash, Deputy Speaker KP Assembly, Mahmood Jan, renowned tv artistes, Ayub Koso and Rasheed Naz were also present on the occasion and distributed awards.

Those who were conferred with Pride of Peshawar Awards were included Imran Khan (Painting), Yasin Khan (Bodybuilding), Altaf-ur-Rehman (International Chair Tournament), Cricketer Riaz Kayal, Footballer Saleem Awan, Samina Sahar, Zeeshan Pervez, Ishrat Abbas, Zulfikar Ali, Mah Jabeen Qazalbash, Omar Gul and Nazir Ahmad alias Naji Khan in performing art.

Similarly, Professor Haleem Shirazi was awarded on services in education sector, Hamdullah Jan Bismel, Zaitoon Bano and Nazir Ahmad Bhatti in literature while Safia Javed was awarded for boxing, Assistant Professor Dr.

Sajid Ali (Agriculture), Paraglider Qazi Tufail, Abdul Muqeet (IT), Sabih Ahmad (Volunteering), Adeel Rauf (business), Dr. Ali Jan (History & Culture). Gulab Khel & Khomarian (Music), Cricketers Mian Syed Ahmad Shah, Wajahatullah Wasti and Kabir Khan while Dr. Sania Nishter was awarded for her services in health sector.

Addressing the ceremony, the Senior Minister, Atif Khan said that from next year the provincial government would launch a Pride of KP Awards for those who had bring laurels for the country to spread the soft and positive image of the province in world and the country.

He said that a cash prize would also be given along with the award, saying that a hefty fund has been allocated for tourism, sports, culture and youth affairs to promote the positive image of the province.
