Chief Engineer Irrigation Arrested By Anti-Corruption Establishment Of Charges Of Embezzlement In Bahawalpur

Anti-Corruption Establishment Bahawalpur has arrested one Chief Engineer Irrigation Waqar Warraich on the charges of corruption and financial embezzlement.
BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :Anti-Corruption Establishment Bahawalpur has arrested one Chief Engineer Irrigation Waqar Warraich on the charges of corruption and financial embezzlement.
According to Director Anti-Corruption Bahawalpur Imran Raza, the accused was responsible for the loss to the government exchequer in a development project of a canal in Rahim Yar Khan. The contractor was given Rs 123 million for the project but the work had not started after a lapse of one year and five months.
Chief Engineer Waqar Warraich, in collaboration with the contractor, approved tender of Rs 164 million without additional performance security. Later, the Chief Engineer assisted the contractor in getting exempted from fulfilling his obligations. The anti-corruption establishment arrested Chief Engineer Irrigation Waqar Warraich from Gujranwala in case number 40/2018 of Anti-Corruption Establishment Headquarters. Further investigation of the case is underway.
