One year ago, nearly 1200 dispatches were delivered on daily basis in the city, informed Chief Postmaster Rai Saifullah while talking to APP here. When questioned the main reason behind improvement in Pakistan Post, he informed that the Federal minister Murad Saeed was taking special interest in the department. The minister's special interest also served as campaign as well as publicity of the department and it resulted into people inclination and interest towards Pakistan Post.

Rai Saifullah also remarked that Pakistan Post signed agreements with the government and private institutions which also helped improving revenue of the department. Pakistan Post is being upgraded on modern lines and masses are reposing confidence on the department's performance, he added.

The charges of Pakistan Post were very low as compared to private courier services, he said and added, if a private courier service charges Rs 200, then the charges of Pakistan Post were Rs 50 only which a huge difference.

About revenue generation in the city, the chief postmaster observed that revenue increased to nearly Rs 10 million after he assumed the charge.

Rai Saifullah observed that revenue could be improved further in case the issue of staff shortage was addressed. He said that he had only two staffers for picking up of dispatches from government and private departments. The city has six delivery points. However, the city expanded significantly. More officials required to cover the whole city, he said.
